A nice 1954 Chevy 3100 1/2 ton "Advanced Design" truck, it was a departure from the earlier models with a redesigned grill and flat rails on the bed, at the Fly Inn Gas station circa 1933. As automobiles became more prevalent, roads were being improved. U.S. Highway 87 was completed in 1933 connecting Hardin and Billings, MT. Lee Fly, a nearby rancher, saw the need for a stopping point on this 50 mile stretch of highway to help motorists. Hardin County, Hardin, MT.
